Regional Networks

The Global Geopark Network (GGN) is strategically organized into regional networks, allowing for greater cooperation and exchange between Geoparks. Currently, there are five active Regional Networks operating within the GGN, each fostering a sense of community and collaboration between Geoparks in their respective areas. This structure also amplifies their collective impact on education, tourism and environmental management. Together, these UNESCO Global Geoparks are working to protect the geological heritage of our planet while promoting sustainable practices for future generations.

OUR MEMBERS

Our Network is an international NGO composed by the official representatives of each existing UNESCO Global Geopark. They are more than 300 people, all professionals, experts in Geoparks and are working inside GGN on a volunteer base to dynamize and expend UNESCO Global Geoparks all over the world.

WHAT WE DO

We are a dynamic and living International network meeting us yearly and working permanently together. Our activities are extremely diverse ranging from networking, brainstorming in working groups, publications, capacity building, development of projects and common tools, participating actively in UNESCO commissions, organizing events, promoting UNESCO Global Geoparks all over the world through Tourist Fairs, etc.
